But superfans of the 90s boy band will be delighted to know there’s an all-singing and dancing Take That film in the works. Yes, really. The movie – titled Greatest Days – has been written by Calendar Girls writer Tim Firth. Coky Giedroyc is set to direct the film, which will feature the band’s biggest hits such as Greatest Day, Patience, Back For Good, A Million Love Songs and Shine. Getty Images Comedians Aisling Bea and Jayde Adams are joining the cast, so it’s safe to assume, it’ll be pretty funny. Take That’s Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald are also on the crew as executive producers. In a statement released by Take That, the band said: ‘We’re really looking forward to working with such a talented and creative team on the film and we’re absolutely delighted to have such a brilliant cast on board!’ Other iconic stars like Elton John and Queen have had movie biopics of their musical journey created in the past few years, but Greatest Days will tell a heartfelt tale of love and friendship, instead. The storyline will follow five best friends who have the night of their lives while at the concert of their favourite boy band. The group reunite after 25 years, and reminisce about their past as well as thinking about their future. The band members will be played by rising stars Aaron Bryan, Dalvin Cory, Joshua Jung, Mark Samaras and Mervin Noronha. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aisling Bea (@weemissbea) Aisling Bea has said that after two years of the pandemic, she is ‘ready to Relight My Fire and get singing and dancing in this feel-good joy fest of a movie’. ‘I have long waited for Take That to know who I am. I’ve played the long game, but I feel like I am now so close,’ she said. ‘My dream is for them to ask me to sing the Lulu solo on stage, so I hope they read this quote and take THAT into consideration.’ Lara McDonnell, Jessie Mae Alonzo, Nandi Hudson, Carragon Guest and Eliza Dobson are also set to star in the film.
