With Love Island now off our screens for another year, there’s a sizeable dating show-shaped hole in our lives, which thankfully, Netflix is here to fill with its new show, Dated and Related. Netflix/Ana Blumenkron First things first, they could have thought a bit longer about the title of the show. But, dodgy name aside, having watched the trailer, this looks like it could just be our new favourite TV obsession. The premise is that 16 hot, young singles (from the UK, USA and Norway) are flown to a villa in the south of France in order to find love – with their siblings in tow. Yep, these people have agreed to embark on a quest for the romance of their lives alongside their brother or sister, who will also be doing the exact same. Netflix Netflix’s summary of the show is this: ‘Imagine having to think about your sibling dating – how they flirt, how they treat their partners, and what their signature moves are. In this brand-new reality dating series, pairs of siblings will be seeing each other’s love life up close and personal as they search for ‘the one’ together. ‘Having the person who knows you better than anyone should help you navigate the tricky world of dating. But will they act as the ultimate wingman and help you find love? Or scupper your plans and call you out on all your bullsh*t? Either way it might just be Awkward. As. Hell.’ Netflix The contestants flirt, go on dates with each other and have cheeky snogs, all with their siblings tagging along and watching their every move, which can surely only make for the most toe-curling, awkward viewing. Will the siblings be protective over each other or will they sabotage their potential new relationships by bringing up every embarrassing thing their brother or sister has ever done in the past? This could just be the most awkward dating show in history – and we’re totally here for it. Dated and Related lands on Netflix on 2 September.
