YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Interiors How Pearl Lowe decorates her home for Christmas By You Magazine - December 19, 2021 Fashion and interior designer Pearl Lowe will be hunkering down in her East Sussex beach house this Christmas with her musician husband Danny Goffey, their four children Daisy, 32, Alfie, 25, Frankie, 22, and Betty, 16, as well as ‘all the boyfriends and girlfriends of the kids. It’s always a bit of a crazy one in our house as there are a lot of us!’ says Pearl. Pearl and Danny stumbled upon the four-bedroom home online last year. ‘We went to view it the day before the second lockdown,’ she says, ‘and fell in love with the house the moment we walked through the door.’ It was built in the 1940s by a soldier as a present to his wife after the war. The façade has intricate shell details moulded into the wall, which, Pearl explains, were handmade by his wife, a shell artist. ‘It’s such a unique touch and my aesthetic completely.’ Decorating has always come naturally to Pearl– and Christmas is a chance for her to create a magical space with lots of dried flowers, candles and fairy lights. As for dressing the tree, she says, ‘We buy one new decoration every year, which is often a vintage piece – and I bring out the same baubles and ornaments that I’ve had for 20 years.’ Traditions at Christmas are important to Pearl, who says, ‘All the girls wear red dresses on the day.’ However, there is one Christmas custom Pearl won’t be indulging in and that’s the turkey. ‘There will be a nut roast in the oven for me,’ she laughs.
