YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Life Chelsea Flower Show 2021 will officially go ahead – here’ s how By You Magazine - October 26, 2020 After being cancelled this year due to the pandemic (along with every other event in 2020) and moving to a virtual home for the first time in its 108 year history, Chelsea Flower Show has proudly announced it will be back, IRL, for 2021. Getty Images As the world’s most famous gardening event with many royal fans, including Kate Middleton and the Queen, regularly visiting each year, Chelsea Flower Show is a highlight of the year for green-fingered gardeners (and those who just like to ooh and ahh at the fabulous displays) everywhere. There will, of course, be a few changes to the event to make it all Covid-friendly, including bumping the event up from its normal 5 days to 6 to allow for as many people to enjoy the show as possible while being able to observe social distancing rules safely. So while 2019 saw 168,500 tickets sold, there will be a slightly reduced 140,000 visitors spread across the whole 6 days this year. Getty Images Sue Biggs, RHS Director General, has said: ‘We plan our Shows 18 months in advance and have been planning and researching how to open the 2021 RHS Chelsea safely and securely for our visitors, partners and exhibitors since April this year. We have taken the time to get all our plans finalised and will now be consulting with exhibitors and supporting them further due to the changes we have had to make.’ Getty Images She continued: ‘Whilst we continue to live in uncertain times and May is a long way off, we believe these measures will mean we can safely run the Show, although we will of course be ready to react to any Government advice and if we sadly need to, will offer anyone who has booked a ticket a full refund.’ The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021 will run from 18-23 May 2021. Tickets are on sale online from today for RHS members and non-members can snap up a ticket from 30 October.
