Forming part of the British high street brand’s wider Autumn Winter 2020 offering, it takes on the same luxuriously heavy fabrics and rich colour palette of jewel and earth tones, alongside some signature prints and statement silhouettes. The lighter pieces, such as the midi dresses and blouses, feature some stunning prints: there’s a gorgeous red animal print and a striking black and white paisley print, too. Meanwhile, the outerwear features luxe-looking heavy leather and shearling to create pieces that look far more expensive than they are – we particularly love the khaki crocodile-effect leather trench coat, the ultimate in statement-making outerwear. The premium cuts and fabrications of the Topshop IDOL collection do come at a price, however – while many of the blouses, dresses and knitwear stay comfortably within Topshop’s regular pricing range (£35.99 for a cardigan and £39.99 for a blouse, for example), the outerwear prices can reach much headier heights, making them more of an investment purchase. But with a price range as diverse as this, there’s something for everyone in the latest Topshop IDOL collection.
