They’re constantly on the go and when they’re not attending engagements within the UK, they’re travelling to fulfil their global duties. So as you can imagine, they have a couple of requirements for a trip overseas. Getty Images It was recently revealed that Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has a very specific travel essential she doesn’t leave without and it is something she uses for health and wellness. According to the Express, the one thing Camilla won’t travel without is her yoga block – an item that helps to support your body during the exercise. The specific insight was given by royal biographer Robert Hardman, in his 2018 book, Queen of the World. ‘The Duchess is touring a community centre where she turns her hand to art, flower-arranging and cooking, and drops in on a yoga class for senior citizens,’ he wrote, referring to Camilla’s trip to Singapore in 2017. ‘She spots a “back brick” and tells her guide that she never travels without one.’ Getty Images As reported by the Express, the Duchess also discussed the benefits of a yoga block (which include achieving a straighter spine) during the trip. ‘It’s very good for you yoga, isn’t it? I do a bit of yoga. A bit of yoga and a bit of Pilates,’ she said, claims the publication. ‘It’s very good for you as you get older, it makes you less stiff – good for your muscles. It makes you much more supple.’ But Camilla isn’t the only royal to be a fan of the practise. The Duchess of Sussex is a long-time advocate of yoga, thanks to her mother Doria Ragland, who has been a trained instructor since Meghan was a child. ‘Yoga is my thing,’ Meghan told Best Health Magazine in a cover interview from 2016. ‘My mom is a yoga instructor, and I started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her when I was seven.’ ‘I was very resistant as a kid,’ she added. ‘But she said, “Flower, you will find your practice – just give it time.” In college, I started doing it more regularly.’ RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR 50 of the best celebrity Halloween costumes of all time Shirley Ballas ‘ Strictly gave me back my hope’ Davina McCall discusses how men can help women going through the menopause Popular in Celebrity TV chef Gino D Acampo on Sardinia Sophia Loren and scary salads May 25, 2017 The Evergreen Goddess Exercise guru Diana Moran on looking fit and July 10, 2017 More more Julianne Moore November 13, 2017 Author Jill Mansell on designer notebooks commissioning art and the family January 16, 2018 EMOTIONAL TIES Kelly Hoppen on vodka vintage finds and being a April 4, 2018 ‘ I have no regrets’ Millie Mackintosh on divorce debt and reuniting May 20, 2018 EMOTIONAL TIES TV presenter and tennis player Annabel Croft shares her July 1, 2018 Stella Parton ‘ Dolly and I have always been close’ August 12, 2018 Anna Friel on getting jeered in the street shared parenting with September 23, 2018 Queen of primetime Charlotte Riley on juggling rising stardom with pregnancy October 21, 2018 Popular CategoriesFood2704Life2496Fashion2240Beauty1738Celebrity1261Interiors684 Sign up for YOUMail Thanks for subscribing Please check your email to confirm (If you don't see the email, check the spam box) Fashion Beauty Celebrity Life Food Privacy & Cookies T&C Copyright 2022 - YOU Magazine.
