Hurrah! A select number of Pret and Veggie Pret stores across the country will be treating us with Dark Chocolate & Almond Butter Cookie between 3pm and 4pm to kickstart the weekend on a high. Alamy Stock Photo And if you’re worried about dietary requirements, don’t be because the cookies are vegan. The deliciously gooey cookies, which are normally priced at £1.45, are made with vegan dark chocolate with almond butter and a little sea salt. Yum! All you have to do to get your hands on one, customers must quote a ‘secret’ password to a member of staff behind the counter. The said password (which isn’t so secret at all) was announced for customers to see via Pret’s social media channels, including its popular Instagram page. Simply say ‘bake my day’ at the counter for your free sweet treat. Hannah Dolan, global head of food innovation at Pret, said: ‘We know our Dark Chocolate & Almond Butter Cookie is one of our customers’ favourites – we’ve had hundreds of messages from vegans and non-vegans alike, telling us how much they love it. ‘Enjoy it on us this Friday afternoon. It’s delicious when paired with a cup of our organic coffee or English breakfast tea.’ View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pret A Manger (@pret) The exciting giveaway comes just a few weeks after Pret’s previous free iced coffee giveaway last month. At the time, Briony Raven, Head of Coffee and Packaging at Pret, said of the deal: ‘Given we are set to see some sunshine this week, we wanted to ease our customers into the weekend with an iced coffee on us. ‘Our organic espresso is just as great served cold, over ice, as it is hot, while our new Cold Brew is delicious, full-bodied and velvety smooth. It combines a milk chocolate sweetness, with a mellow citrus acidity and a clean, refreshing finish, making it perfect for the summer months.’ Perhaps this will become a monthly thing? We’ve certainly got our fingers crossed.
