YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Travel Hotel review Shangri-La London By Joanne Toolan - July 21, 2022 The Shard is a defining centrepiece of London’s skyline. Towering over 1000 feet above the ground, it has a sleek, modern and awe-inspiring presence. And, up on the 34th floor you come to the Shangri-La, a place that provides an unforgettable welcome as you take in a incredible view of London. The star of the show and real pull of this hotel is the view. Eleven thousand panels of glass bring this hotel together, providing an epic panoramic landscape. A hotel with slick hospitality, the smooth and swift check in sets the tone for your stay, allowing you to quickly relax into your break. Once you have pulled yourself away from the floor to ceiling windows, you notice the sheer luxury set out around you. Flowing through the lobby and down into the corridors sit modern and sophisticated interiors, plus elements of grandeur with marble details and impeccable art fitting into place. Shangri-La London hotel review Rooms & Facilities There are a total of 202 rooms, including 17 suites, but with a luxuriously comfy bed and London’s skyline as your wallpaper, what more do you need? You can enjoy watching the sunrise with your fresh Nespresso or take in the sunset while soaking in L’Occitane products from the grand marble bathroom. Other luxuries include rainforest showers, high thread count linen, plush bathrobes and slippers, a pillow menu and – if you want a closer look at the buildings around you – a pair of binoculars are provided in every room. Food & Drink TĪNG offers a relaxed setting with a variety of menus throughout the day; enjoy breakfast bites, afternoon tea or delicious set menus. The restaurant presents you with modern British dishes noting an Asian influence, all curated using local and seasonal ingredients. A more elegant setting and the hotspot for sundowners or after dinner drinks is GŎNG. Watch the city go dark while enjoying one of the many unique cocktail offerings. Bar 31 and Sky Lounge also have food and drink options and boast a more casual setting. Hotel Highlights The sky pool and sauna offer a welcomed escape, with soft lighting, a gentle playlist and breathtaking views. There is a sense of quiet and serenity that hits you high above the bustling and energetic city. Open 6am-6pm you have all day to unwind and relax into your wellness weekend. Post-swim you are greeted with a warm towel and offerings of drinks as you cosy up pool side . If you need a little more help to drift off into a state of serenity, the hotel offers a selection of spa treatments, therapeutic and holistic, which take place in the spa rooms. What to do nearby With London Bridge station on your doorstep you can find yourself anywhere. However if you want to stay local, a great spot is Borough Market, where you can eat your way through the finest food stalls offering a variety of cuisine. Enjoy strolls by the river or take a river cruise, while the Tower of London, St Pauls, Tate Modern and the South Bank are all within walking distance. Best for A wellness weekend, somewhere to fully immerse yourself in quiet and luxury. Whether you take a solo trip or visit with a partner, friend or parent, you are bound to come away feeling refreshed. For more information, visit the Shangri-La website here.
