YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Travel The cheapest UK cities for a staycation this summer By Kanika Banwait - July 19, 2022 The great British staycation had a major revival in 2020 and 2021. Amidst various lockdowns and restrictions due to the Covid pandemic, we set our sights closer to home for our holidays. Although international travel is very much back on the cards this year, the cost of living crisis, airport chaos and environmental concerns have meant that not everyone feels comfortable holidaying abroad. While a UK staycation can sometimes be as expensive as a trip to a different country, if not more costly, there are still plenty of cheaper options that are great for a quick getaway. Insurtech and Airbnb specialist company Pikl Insurance have analysed data from Airbnb to help us out, and find the most affordable and best rated places to visit this July and August in the UK. Taking the top spot is Aberdeen in Scotland, where visitors can stay overnight for the average price of £97. Happily, 81% of its Airbnb ratings were over 4.5, suggesting you’re very likely to enjoy your stay, too. Check out which other cities made the list below… The cheapest UK cities for a staycation 1.
