They were, of course, stunning – shot by world renowned fashion photographer Paolo Roversi, who treated us to not one but a series of three beautiful portraits of Kate, each wonderfully natural yet regal. In each picture, the Duchess wore a different gown from Alexander McQueen, one of her favourite fashion houses (her wedding dress was famously designed by Alexander McQueen’s creative director Sarah Burton). Currently part of the National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection, the portraits have been selected to feature in the gallery’s Coming Home project, which sees portraits of iconic individuals lent to locations with which the sitters are closely associated, giving people across the UK a chance to see the original works of art in person. The black and white shot of Kate in the white dress with bows on the shoulders is heading to the county of Berkshire, where Kate was born and raised. It will first be displayed at St James the Less Church from 22 March – 5 April (where several generations of the Middleton family have been parishioners), then to Reading Museum from 7 April – 4 June (which is close to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where Kate was born). View this post on Instagram A post shared by Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (@dukeandduchessofcambridge) The photograph of Kate in the striking red one shoulder gown will be displayed at the Wardlaw Museum at the University of St Andrews – where the Duchess studied for her masters in art history and met her husband, Prince William – from 13 June to 30 September. Finally, the portrait of Kate in the white dress with ruffled sleeves will head to Anglesey – where Kate and William first lived together in their early years of marriage – to be displayed at Oriel Môn from 16 July – 2 October.
