YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Fashion Gap has officially returned to the high street By Kanika Banwait - March 15, 2022 The way we shop and what we buy has changed massively over the past few years, resulting in some of our favourite shops closing down. In 2021, all Topshop stores shut their doors after being bought out by ASOS and a once reliable Gap also disappeared off the high street. Since then, Gap has seen somewhat of an ironic resurgence among younger people. Gen Z discovered those iconic Gap logo hoodies, where posts tagged with #gaphoodies pulled in over 11 million views on TikTok. The brand has also been collaborating with style influencers such as Polly Sayer and Alexandra Stedman. And of course there’s the highly-anticipated Yeezy Gap collection with Kanye West and Demna, the creative director of Balenciaga. The shop-in-shop is located within Next‘s flagship store on Oxford Street, London, as the two companies have joined forces. Customers can shop curated collections of elevated everyday essentials including denim, fleece, khakis and tailoring for women, men and kids. There’s even a customisation shop inside that offers embroidery, badging and monogramming. Gap If you prefer shopping online anyway, you’ll be pleased to know that you will still be able to use a click and collect service, get next day delivery and other customer service options later in the year. Jon Jeffery, Managing Director of Gap UK and Ireland, said: ‘I am so excited at the coming together of these two iconic businesses to relaunch the Gap brand in the UK and Ireland, and in particular I’m thrilled at the opportunity to bring Gap’s Modern, American Optimism to our customers at our new London store at 120 Oxford Street’.
