YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Interiors Habitat s bestselling scalloped lamp is a dead-ringer for a designer version By Sophie Hines - March 11, 2022 With the proliferation of interiors account on Instagram, many of us will have had our eye caught by the gorgeous scalloped homewares that are popular right now, from scallop-edged napkins to plant pots. One particularly coveted design is the beautiful scalloped lampshade from Matilda Goad. These raffia lampshades provide a playful alternative to traditional shades, and look lovely against either a bold, block colour wall or pretty, patterned wallpaper. Medium Lampshade, £162, Matilda Goad However, with the brand’s small lampshade costing £132, going up to £180 for the large version, they are definitely an investment piece, which is why many people have been drawn by a similar-looking design from Habitat instead. Estella Table Lamp, £65, Habitat The Estella Table Lamp, £65, was Habitat’s bestselling product in February, providing a charming addition to living rooms and bedrooms. The cute linen lampshade comes with an eye-catching base made from green glass. And, while it may remind us of current trending homeware, the designers told us this lamp was in fact inspired by designs from the Habitat archive, displaying the same distinctive scalloped shape. Habitat also revealed that searches for scalloped homewares have soared recently, with an 1300% uplift since last week. ‘Scalloped details inspired by vintage fabrics have made a comeback across homewares. It’s a great, unexpected way to inject colour and soften edges of typically straight edged items like rugs, cushions and lampshades. Layer up in spaces that are full of prints and patterns to achieve modern, fresh vintage, eclectic style’ said Andrew Tanner, Design Manager.
