YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Life Netflix is putting up prices across its packages By Sophie Hines - March 11, 2022 In news which will no doubt have many begging the question – ‘can’t we just have one thing that’s not getting more expensive right now?’ – it turns out Netflix is putting prices is up for its subscriptions. Boo. Yep, it looks like you’ll soon be paying more to swoon over Bridgerton or sob over After Life, because prices are ramping up across a number of Netflix packages. The most basic package, which allows viewers to watch on one screen at a time and download to one device, will go up by £1 a month, from £5.99 to £6.99. Netfflix will also raise the price of its most popular package, which offers simultaneous viewing on two screens, HD and the ability to download shows and films to two devices. This will now be £10.99 a month. The premium plan, meanwhile, will be raised by £2 a month to £15.99. Netflix said the increases were the inevitable cost associated with maintaining a continual pipeline of new content for viewers amid rising competition from rivals including Amazon’s Prime Video, Disney+ and HBO Max. ‘We have always been focused on providing our members both quality and clear value for their membership,’ a Netflix spokesperson told the Guardian. ‘Our updated prices reflect the investment we have made in our service and catalogue and will allow us to continue making the series, documentaries and films our members love as well as investing in talent and the creative industry. We offer a range of plans so members can choose a price that works best for them.’ Worrying about bills?
