YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Interiors The Home Edit on how to make bathroom storage stylish By You Magazine - March 14, 2021 Ever wondered what an A-list bathroom looks like? Very organised if The Home Edit’s Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin have anything to do with it. The declutterers to the stars reveal how they make storage stylish. The smaller the space, the more noticeable clutter can be. That is why bathrooms need particular attention. Creating a functional storage system that works for the way you live will make all the difference to the look and feel of the space. First things first, if your bathroom lacks cabinet space, you can just as easily use a drawer. Almost all bottles can lie flat as opposed to standing upright – just make sure lids are on extra tight. Create a ‘daily’ drawer in which to put go-to items that you use twice a day without fail. Think toothbrush and toothpaste, contact lenses, face cream – anything that’s part of your regular routine. Don’t have a bathroom drawer? Consider setting up a stand- alone drawer in a cabinet. The idea is to keep these items accessible so that you can get ready in a hurry. Group items by type such as face, hair, bath and body for ease and use modular drawer organisers in varying sizes to separate your categories and contain any spills. Distinguish cotton buds from cotton balls by using clear glass jars and place items used together next to one another in the drawer. Don’t underestimate the space beneath or above your bathroom sink. In many instances, it’s the best place to stand up large bottles of shampoo, hair products, lotion, and more, so put it to good use. Take advantage of the depth of space and opt for extra-deep pull-out drawers to store back-up supplies of toiletries. If you need to use countertops to store items, stackable acrylic containers will allow you to easily see everything you have available.
