YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity Camilla Parker Bowles had the perfect reaction to meeting the actress who plays her in The Crown By Georgia Green - March 9, 2022 Until now, it has often been assumed that the whole of the royal family take umbrage with The Crown‘s portrayal of themselves and their relatives. Both Princes William and Harry have previously voiced their concern for how their mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales, is portrayed in the TV series, but it seems the Duchess of Cornwall’s opinions on the show may be less spiky. A young Camilla Parker Bowles (then Shand) first enters The Crown‘s storyline in season three of the hit Netflix series, played by actress Emerald Fennell. And in a serendipitous turn of events, Emerald and the real Duchess of Cornwall actually met face-to-face recently at an International Women’s Day event. Despite what was no doubt a nerve-wracking moment for Emerald, the actress described meeting the real Camilla as ‘absolutely delightful’. We can only assume that the Duchess of Cornwall found their meeting to be equally pleasurable and amusing, as she during a speech at the event, Camilla said: ‘It is reassuring to know that, if I should fall off my perch at any moment, my fictional alter ego is here to take over – so, Emerald, be prepared!’ Getty Images When asked about what else Camilla had said, Emerald told reporters: ‘You know what, I’m going to be very discreet, because if I’ve learned anything it’s “loose lips sink ships”. ‘She is such an impressive person, it was fittingly nice to meet her today on International Women’s Day because she does so much for so many particularly female-centred charities,’ she said, adding that Camilla ‘has been in the spotlight for a long time and has always weathered it with a lot of grace and good humour.’ Getty Images RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR 50 of the best celebrity Halloween costumes of all time Shirley Ballas ‘ Strictly gave me back my hope’ Davina McCall discusses how men can help women going through the menopause Popular in Celebrity TV chef Gino D Acampo on Sardinia Sophia Loren and scary salads May 25, 2017 The Evergreen Goddess Exercise guru Diana Moran on looking fit and July 10, 2017 More more Julianne Moore November 13, 2017 Author Jill Mansell on designer notebooks commissioning art and the family January 16, 2018 EMOTIONAL TIES Kelly Hoppen on vodka vintage finds and being a April 4, 2018 ‘ I have no regrets’ Millie Mackintosh on divorce debt and reuniting May 20, 2018 EMOTIONAL TIES TV presenter and tennis player Annabel Croft shares her July 1, 2018 Stella Parton ‘ Dolly and I have always been close’ August 12, 2018 Anna Friel on getting jeered in the street shared parenting with September 23, 2018 Queen of primetime Charlotte Riley on juggling rising stardom with pregnancy October 21, 2018 Popular CategoriesFood2704Life2496Fashion2240Beauty1738Celebrity1261Interiors684 Sign up for YOUMail Thanks for subscribing Please check your email to confirm (If you don't see the email, check the spam box) Fashion Beauty Celebrity Life Food Privacy & Cookies T&C Copyright 2022 - YOU Magazine.
