Getty Images Announced by Netflix and Beckham on social media, the series will look beyond the footballing icon’s career and headlines, exploring his ‘humble working class beginnings in east London’ and his ‘drive and determination which has led him to become one of the most recognisable and scrutinised athletes of all time.’ Featuring interviews with his friends and family, including wife Victoria and their children, Brooklyn, 23, Romeo, 19, Cruz, 17, and Harper, 11, there will also be plenty of never-before-seen personal archive footage for the last forty years and interviews with the man himself, as well as the people who have been key figures on his life both on and off the pitch. We don’t yet know when the series will air but we can’t imagine we’ll have too long to wait for what will likely be one of Netflix’s much-talked about documentary series. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype!
