YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Food These are the top recipes of 2021 according to Google By You Magazine - December 8, 2021 When it comes to finding a new recipe, our first port of call is nearly always Google, so a look at the top 10 most searched for recipes of the last year paints quite the picture of our nationwide culinary state of mind. Google has revealed the top recipes of 2021, according to the search engine’s data and the results are extremely revealing – with some surprises, too. Getty Images After kitchens everywhere were dominated by banana bread in 2020, you’d have thought we’d have had enough or moved onto something else in 2021. But no, the top most searched for recipe this year was in fact banana bread. Interestingly, the fruit-infused bake didn’t even crack the top 10 last year, making 2021 the real year of banana bread. Cocktail recipes featured heavily on the list, including Sex on the Beach, Pimms and Pornstar Martini – unsurprising given we’re all embracing entertaining at home a lot more this year and want to impress guests with our new cocktail making skills discovered during lockdown last year. Getty Images Iced coffee also made an appearance, surely influenced by its prevalence on this summer’s Love Island, as did malt loaf, another TV-inspired trend, this time by it’s appearance as a Great British Bake Off challenge. Meanwhile, TikTok continues to influence our everyday lives, as baked oats managed to make it into the top five. Getty Images Sourdough bread topped the 2020 list, however this year saw it slide down to tenth – clearly we didn’t have nearly as much time to tend to a sourdough starter once normal life opened back up again this year. The full list of the top recipes of 2021 is as follows: Banana bread recipe Sex on the Beach recipe Pimms recipe Iced coffee recipe Baked oats recipe Scallops recipe Overnight oats recipe Malt loaf recipe Pornstar Martini recipe Sourdough starter recipe For comparison, this was 2020’s top 10 most searched for recipes on Google: Bread recipe Beef bourguignon recipe School cake recipe KFC recipe White bread recipe American pancakes recipe Wagamama katsu curry recipe Sourdough starter recipe IKEA meatball recipe Soda bread recipe RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Kids can eat for free at these restaurants during October half-term How to make the viral negroni sbagliato with prosecco at home 7 Halloween recipes with serious hex factor Popular in Food Gabriela Peacock 14-day plan Anytime baked eggs May 23, 2021 Joe Wicks’ maple-glazed chicken thighs with Asian slaw June 6, 2021 Mary Berry is returning to TV screens for a brand new June 15, 2021 Eleanor Maidment My summer taste notes July 4, 2021 Uyen Luu’ s sticky mustard marmalade ribs July 25, 2021 Annie Bell’ s white peach bellinis recipe August 8, 2021 M& S has launched a new crunchy Caramilk-inspired golden chocolate spread August 24, 2021 Deliciously preserved pickle and jam recipes September 19, 2021 Gordon Ramsay’ s bang bang cauliflower October 3, 2021 Wow right now Clodagh McKenna’ s speedy family dinners October 24, 2021 Popular CategoriesFood2704Life2496Fashion2240Beauty1738Celebrity1261Interiors684 Sign up for YOUMail Thanks for subscribing Please check your email to confirm (If you don't see the email, check the spam box) Fashion Beauty Celebrity Life Food Privacy & Cookies T&C Copyright 2022 - YOU Magazine.
