The actress first made comments about the ‘misogynist chatter’ that surrounded the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That just before it aired in late 2021. Anticipation for the show was high, but that didn’t stop some negativity creeping in to chatter around the show. Speaking to American Vogue for the December 2021 issue, the actress slammed negative remarks on social media about the fact the characters got older (surprise!), highlighting the sexism at play. ‘There’s so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would never. Happen. About. A. Man,’ Sarah said in the interview. Getty Images The actress flagged relentless online commentary: ‘Grey hair grey hair grey hair. Does she have grey hair?’ She compared this treatment to that of her friend, TV and radio host Andy Cohen, who she was photographed having lunch with on a break from shooting. ‘I’m sitting with Andy Cohen, and he has a full head of grey hair, and he’s exquisite. Why is it okay for him?’ Sarah Jessica Parker and Andy Cohen are seen at Anton’s in New York City. I have no choice. What am I going to do about it? Stop ageing? Disappear?’ View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vogue (@voguemagazine) And now, the actress has called out the industry’s – and society’s – ageist beauty standards unfairly put on women. ‘Society puts a huge emphasis on youth when it comes to beauty standards, but it’s not productive. There should be no apologies. I am not trying to cover anything up with my approach to skincare, fashion, or beauty,’ Sarah has said, in light of her partnership with cult French pharmacy brand RoC, who’s current campaign is all about skincare that helps you embrace what’s to come, rather than attempt to turn back time. I don’t want to make others feel like they must adopt my approach, because their life experiences may be different than mine – but I will say that, personally, I like being hopeful because I find it makes things bearable when they are at their worst.’ RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Everything we know about The Crown season 5 Aldi s exercise equipment is on sale with up to 50% off The best Halloween events for 2022 across the UK Popular in Life The You magazine team reveal their New Year s resolutions December 31, 2021 Susannah Taylor The TLC tools your body will love January 23, 2022 How to stop living in fear February 6, 2022 Susannah Taylor My pick of the fittest leggings February 27, 2022 Women’ s Prize for Fiction 2022 winner announced June 17, 2022 These BBC dramas are returning for a second series June 30, 2022 Susannah Taylor gives the lowdown on nature s little helper – CBD April 17, 2022 The baby names that are banned across the world April 27, 2022 The Queen has released her own emojis May 26, 2022 Sally Brompton horoscopes 27th June-3rd July 2022 June 26, 2022 Popular CategoriesFood2704Life2496Fashion2240Beauty1738Celebrity1261Interiors684 Sign up for YOUMail Thanks for subscribing Please check your email to confirm (If you don't see the email, check the spam box) Fashion Beauty Celebrity Life Food Privacy & Cookies T&C Copyright 2022 - YOU Magazine.
