No, we can’t quite believe it either, but ever since JK Rowling’s magical series of books were immortalised in film, the world has been Potter crazy. Alamy And thanks to our current collective craving for all things nostalgic, reunion shows are rife right now (hello Friends reunion and Sex and the City reboot). So it seems only fitting that we take a trip down memory lane and revisit the magical lives of Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest of the wizarding world, too. Alamy Luckily, we’re about to get exactly that. Emma Watson took to Instagram to reveal the news that a reunion special is coming to screens in January 2022 to celebrate the film franchise’s 20th anniversary. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Emma Watson (@emmawatson) The actress who played Hermione Granger (and also posted this adorable photo with her Harry Potter co-stars to commemorate the anniversary) wrote: ‘Had to break out the Time-Turner one last time for this… #ReturnToHogwarts, streaming only on @hbomax’. Fans were rightfully delighted at the news, with excitable comments flooding in: ‘WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE,’ wrote one fan. ‘This is the best news I’ve heard,’ said another. Alamy On 6 December, HBO Max released another teaser trailer revealing which of our favourite Harry Potter stars would be taking part. It confirmed Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson (aka Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger) would all take part. The list of names also included Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix), Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), and many more. Other than the above trailer, not much else is known about the Harry Potter reunion special so far. The case are likely to be reminiscing on their memories of filming the franchise and being on-set. As you may have gathered from the above clip, the Harry Potter reunion special is set to stream from 1 January 2022 on HBO Max, a US-only streaming service. While the Harry Potter books and films are just as popular in the US as they are here in the UK, we’re hopeful that a UK streaming service will buy up the rights sharpish so us British Potterheads can get in on all the nostalgic action, too.
