We’re used to seeing 30 under 30 lists but, while it’s great to champion young and emerging talent, the underlying message is that anything that happens after that age isn’t worth shouting about. We know that couldn’t be more wrong, which is why we love beauty brand Look Fabulous Forever, the beauty brand for older women, and their recent survey to find the top 60 women over 60 that their customers find the most inspiring. Having founded her beauty business at the age of 65, Look Fabulous Forever founder Tricia Cusden knows as much as any woman that life doesn’t stop at 60. Getty Images The survey highlights how much life is left for women past the age of 60 and that careers can still flourish post retirement age – the women who feature are an inspiration not just to older women, but for all generations. The top 15 in the 60 over sixty list are: Queen Elizabeth II Dame Judi Dench Baronness Betty Boothroyd Dame Jane Goodall Dame Esther Rantzen Dolly Parton Dame Mary Beard Joanna Lumley OBE Rev Rose Hudson-Wilkin MBE Princess Anne Dame Julie Walters Prue Leith CBE Carol Klein Meryl Streep Caroline Lucas MP Also appearing in the 60 over sixty list are a variety of household names in royalty, politics and showbusiness, including Sandi Toksvig, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, Twiggy, Angela Merkel, Tina Turner, Lorraine Kelly, Oprah Winfrey, Maggie Smith, Dame Mary Berry and Delia Smith, as well as leading experts in their fields such as Professor Wendy Savage and Dr Jenny Harries OBE. Getty Images In total, there are 18 Dames, 5 Baronesses and 3 HRH’s appearing in the list. Impressively, a third of those on the list are over the age of 80, with the oldest entry being 94 (The Queen). The full list can be seen here.
