YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity The Emily in Paris season 2 release date and trailer is here By You Magazine - November 18, 2021 Love it or love to hate it, those are the two options when it comes to Emily in Paris, Netflix’s series starring Lily Collins as an American marketing executive from Chicago who gets transferred to work in Paris and subsequently stumbles across all the French tropes, stereotypes and faux pas you can imagine. Netflix Despite a mixed bag of reviews when it was released in 2020 (and a subsequent backlash over its Golden Globe nominations over Black-created shows such as Michaela Coel’s I May Destroy You and Insecure, starring Issa Rae), Emily in Paris has firmly secured its place in the ‘guilty pleasure’ and ‘so trashy its good’ categories, which is why we’re not surprised at all that it has been renewed for a second season (YOU columnist Elizabeth Day even dedicated an entire column to the show). Netflix announced Emily would be returning for more Parisian escapades back in November 2020, so what can we expect from this second instalment? Emily in Paris season 2 Everything we know so far Who’ s been cast All of the original cast are returning for season 2 of Emily in Paris, including Lily Collins as Emily, Ashley Park as Mindy, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylie, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, Camille Razat as Camille, Samuel Arnold as Julien, Bruno Gouery as Luc and William Abadie as Antoine. Also joining the line-up is French actor Arnaud Binard as Laurent G, a nightclub owner, and Jeremy O. Harris has been cast as fashion designer Gregory Elliott Dupree. What’ s the plot for season 2 We have questions that need answering in season 2 of Emily in Paris, namely what’s going to happen with the love triangle between Emily, Gabriel and Camille? It’s also been rumoured that Lucien Laviscount’s new character Alfie is being introduced as a new love interest for Emily, with a press release stating that, ‘he enjoys teasing Emily. They have an antagonist relationship that evolves into something more.’ Could our love triangle be about to become a ‘love rectangle’? Netflix Show creator Darren Star told Oprah Daily, ‘In season 2, she’s going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she’s living in. She’ll be more of a resident of the city. She’ll have her feet on the ground a little more. She’s making a life there.’ Lily Collins told E! News: ‘I don’t know about season two yet, but I think Emily has some surprising tough choices. The show’s so much about the culture undermining her expectations of how things are and how things seem. And everything will not be as it seems. It’s always about challenging her American worldview. We certainly have a lot of forks in the road and a lot of places to go.’ When will Emily in Paris season 2 be released Lily Collins revealed on Instagram that the second season of Emily in Paris will be landing on Netflix on 22 December, which is way earlier than we thought. As filming wrapped in August this year, our original guess was that we’d have to wait until Spring 2022 to watch the show.
