The show, which was hosted by Killing Eve‘s Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg, was attended by a star studded line-up of Hollywood guests including Olivia Coleman and Richard Madden, who held it down for the Brits with their big wins – Coleman for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture (The Favourite) and Madden for Best Actor in a Drama TV Series (Bodyguard). Rex Features But aside from the distribution of the all-important trophies, the show-stopping gowns and the powerful speeches – Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Rami Malek and If Beale Street Could Talk‘s Regina King were clear standouts – there were a few things you may have missed at the Golden Globes. To help you out, we’ve charted them below… Lady Gaga paid tribute to Judy Garland Whether it was intentional or not, Lady Gaga paid homage to Judy Garland – who starred in the 1954 version of A Star Is Born – with a stunning fashion statement. Unlike Garland, however, Gaga added some modern glam to the look with a diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co. and blue hair to match. Emma Stone apologised for her controversial role in Aloha Emma Stone made a public apology for portraying a character of Asian descent in the 2015 film, Aloha, during the award ceremony after host Sandra Oh made a joke about the role. Praising blockbuster hit Crazy Rich Asians, Oh said: ‘It is the first studio film with an Asian American lead since Ghost in the Shell and Aloha.’ The audience then burst into laughter, while Emma Stone is heard shouting ‘I’m sorry’ from her seat. Stone has previously addressed the controversy, telling News.com.au that the role made her ‘the butt of many jokes’ and explained: ‘I’ve learned on a macro level about the insane history of whitewashing in Hollywood and how prevalent the problem truly is. It’s ignited a conversation that’s important.’ Idris Elba finally might have hinted at being the next bond Just when we thought the Idris Elba Bond rumours had been laid to rest, the Luther star had us all second guessing once again at the Golden Globes. Teasing fans, Elba posed for a funny picture with Daniel Craig, who currently plays the famous British spy, which was later shared on social media by his fiancee Sabrina Dhowre. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsUa2Jclt3r/ In a cheeky caption, Dhowre wrote: ‘Not to add to the fire but….play nice guys ?’ Could this mean he’ll be the next Bond after all? Jameela Jamil wore jeans under her dress The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil was praised by fans on social media for wearing jeans under her gown as she attended the Golden Globes. During his acceptance speech, the former Game of Thrones actor, who seemed taken aback by the award, thanked his mum and dad, saying: ‘Most importantly, I want to thank my friends and my family. Mum and dad, who flew all the way from Scotland, I wouldn’t be here without you!’ Aww, how lovely!
