YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Beauty 9 refillable perfumes for a more sustainable fragrance choice By Georgia Green - January 25, 2022 Whether you like to mix up your fragrances from day to day or have a signature scent you never stray from, perfume is one of life’s daily luxuries we can all enjoy. But with sustainability the biggest buzzword in fashion and beauty these days, how can we ensure our spritzing habit is friendly to the environment? Beauty in particular can be notorious for wasteful and excessive packaging that’s hard to recycle or repurpose, and perfume bottles are no exception. That said, there is a more eco-friendly option out there and it’s gaining in momentum: refillable perfumes. When you think of refillable perfumes, the first brand that likely comes into your mind is Thierry Mugler. Pioneering in the sustainable perfume game, the designer brand has been offering customers in-store refills of its iconic perfumes since 1992. Since then, lots more brands have joined the ethical bandwagon, whether that’s offering in-store top-ups or at-home refill options. Selfridges even installed a perfume refill station last year which allowed even more of our favourite perfumes to become refillable. Even better, they save you money as a customer as refills are always cheaper than re-buying the entire product again. See below for some of the best refillable perfume options on the market right now so you too can spritz consciously… Refillable perfumes Glossier Glossier Glossier You Solid, £24, Glossier REFILL: £14 (buy here) Cult beauty brand Glossier’s perfume You is designed to smell different on everyone – a ‘you but better’ situation, hence the name.
