Since Oliver Bonas released its gorgeous scalloped design for £395, multiple retailers have been quick to design their own dupe of it for a cheaper price. Asda released a scalloped chair for a purse-friendly £75, which was even cheaper than what budget supermarket Aldi had on offer. Aldi’s velvet chairs were a total sellout, with the scalloped designs becoming harder to bag and buy than flour was during the first lockdown. B&M also released its take on the velvet scalloped chair in a blush colourway, for £100.
