YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Travel Take a sun-soaked break at The Setai hotel in Miami’ s South Beach By You Magazine - May 26, 2019 Looking for a place to stay in Miami’s coolest part of town? Take a tour of The Setai, a must-stay destination sitting ocean-side in the heart of South Beach. Situated on Collins Avenue (Miami’s most desirable location in South Beach), the award-winning hotel is a go-to choice for guests who want luxury and grandeur with an intimate setting. From the moment you step through the doors you are hit with the attention to design; the concept is ‘Art Deco Fusion’, Asian-inspired streamlined décor woven into the original Art Deco façade that stood there when it was restored in 1936. From the moment you enter the lobby, don’t be surprised if you feel your jaw drop at every corner of the sophisticated all-suite hotel. There’s a calming, serene feel throughout with warm lighting, dark wood and neutral accents – whichever way you turn, you can see how beautifully thought-out the design process was. The suites are divided between the hotel’s art deco building and its residential tower. They offer amenities like Nespresso machines, Aqua di Parma toiletries, 24-hour room service and much more. If you choose to stay in one of the huge Ocean Suites you also get to enjoy the perks of a daily breakfast, round-trip airport transfers, spa treatments and more, making it one of the most luxurious stays in the area. And if that’s not enough? The Penthouse, known as one of ‘America’s premier suites’, may tick your boxes. Located on the 40th floor, where guests can indulge in a 180-degree view of the Atlantic Ocean, South Beach and Miami, The Penthouse suite offers four bedrooms (including two master suites), five bathrooms, a private outdoor terrace with multiple lounging areas, private lap pool, a Jacuzzi and an open-air bar. From the glistening lights on the water that moves around the tables of the Jaya restaurant, to the three oceanfront infinity pools (all made from 99 per cent recycled glass) and heated to different temperatures, there’s a spectacular view at sunrise and sunset. From the pools out to the beach, you can practically hop from the hotel to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and feel the velvet sand between your toes. This hotel is obviously acclaimed for its aesthetics, but it also wins plenty of praise for the restaurants. With three to choose from you can dine to suit the occasion – whether that’s dressing up for Jaya or dining in a more casual setting at The Ocean Grill. Jaya’s menu features bold and modern Asian cuisine with loud flavours, served family-style for a lively and approachable dining experience. You can choose to eat either inside or in the hotel’s tranquil courtyard. The Bar and Courtyard, meanwhile, presents an elegant backdrop for whatever the day or night may bring; lounge in the sunshine while enjoying breakfast or sit under the stars with a sophisticated dish paired with the finest wine. Alternatively, The Ocean Grill features a poolside bar stretching the entire length of the pool deck, offering up a chic, relaxed atmosphere. It has a Mediterranean menu that features local and seasonal ingredients. If staying here feels somewhat out of reach, you don’t have to book a room to indulge in the hotel facilities – pay a visit to The Spa at The Setai by THEMAE. The Parisian brand offers specially formulated treatments with products curated from four types of tea, red, white, green and black, all offering different benefits. Unwind in the exquisite spa suites that feature double beds, showers, steam rooms and terrazzo soaking tubs; each one looks over the resort’s three pools and further out to the ocean. There’s even a gym if you want to exercise during your getaway – just don’t forget to make time for a treatment or two as well. The Setai Miami Beach; www.thesetaihotels.com. Rates from £675 per night.
