YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Life This is the place where you’ ll have the worst neighbours in the UK By You Magazine - May 22, 2019 Earlier this year, we reported that a study had revealed the UK destination with the best neighbours. Not to much surprise, Nottingham was crowned with the title following a research project by telephone network company Giff Gaff. Getty Images And while we were delighted to hear of the neighbourly hospitality the city was known for (and very tempted to move there), we couldn’t help but wonder which UK towns and cities were on the other end of the spectrum. In other words, which areas of the country should we be in less of a rush to move to due to the unfriendly neighbours? Luckily, a new study has revealed just that and it won’t be a shock at all to hear that London residents were voted as the least considerate to their neighbours. The research, conducted by Duette as part of an ongoing study into which areas had the most mindful communities, found that London is home to the least considerate neighbours with a score of 4.1 out of 10. This is because Londoners reported that they found their neighbours to be inconsiderate and unfriendly. In fact, they even stated that they were very unlikely to strike up a conversation with one another. To get the results, the researchers surveyed over 2,400 Brits, all over the age of 18, who rented or owned their homes. While clearly London turned out to be the place with the least friendly neighbours, it was closely followed by Manchester, whose neighbours came in second place with 7.9 out of 10, meanwhile Gloucester came in third with a score of 7.7 out of 10. Getty Images Other cities in the top 10 places withe the worst neighbours included Exeter, which scored 7.5, Worcester with 7.4, Newcastle with 7.2, Truro with 7.1, Norwich with seven, Birmingham with 6.8 and last but not least, Leeds which scored 6.7 out of 10. ‘Having nice neighbours can make a huge difference,’ says Sunny Matharu, a Duette spokesperson.’Not only can you turn to them for help when you need it, such as when you go away, but it’s always someone to smile and wave at, sometimes talk to, and you never know who’s day you might be making by being kind. ‘Bad neighbours are never ideal, especially when all involved are arguing. For the sake of all involved, any issues should be discussed and resolved – it shouldn’t lead to someone having to up and move in order to feel settled and comfortable.’ RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Everything we know about The Crown season 5 Aldi s exercise equipment is on sale with up to 50% off The best Halloween events for 2022 across the UK Popular in Life The You magazine team reveal their New Year s resolutions December 31, 2021 Susannah Taylor The TLC tools your body will love January 23, 2022 How to stop living in fear February 6, 2022 Susannah Taylor My pick of the fittest leggings February 27, 2022 Women’ s Prize for Fiction 2022 winner announced June 17, 2022 These BBC dramas are returning for a second series June 30, 2022 Susannah Taylor gives the lowdown on nature s little helper – CBD April 17, 2022 The baby names that are banned across the world April 27, 2022 The Queen has released her own emojis May 26, 2022 Sally Brompton horoscopes 27th June-3rd July 2022 June 26, 2022 Popular CategoriesFood2704Life2496Fashion2240Beauty1738Celebrity1261Interiors684 Sign up for YOUMail Thanks for subscribing Please check your email to confirm (If you don't see the email, check the spam box) Fashion Beauty Celebrity Life Food Privacy & Cookies T&C Copyright 2022 - YOU Magazine.
