YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity This is why Meghan Markle may give birth at a different hospital to Kate By You Magazine - January 4, 2019 It appears that The Duchess Of Sussex’s pregnancy is coming along nicely – with bookies suggesting that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s firstborn could arrive as early as February. But one question remains: where will Meghan Markle give birth to her baby? Well, she is said to be planning on giving birth in a different hospital to most royals, including Kate Middleton. While Kate has given birth to all three of her children (George, Charlotte and Louis) in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, Meghan is looking at other options. Rex Features/Shutterstock It has been reported that The Duchess of Sussex will be giving birth at Frimley Park Hospital in Berkshire. The reason? It’s much closer and more accessible to her new home, which she and husband Harry may be moving into before the birth. The pair announced last year that they would be moving into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor following renovation work to prepare the home. A source told the Daily Mail: ‘If their Royal Highnesses have moved to Frogmore Cottage before the birth, as planned, Frimley Park may be a more easily accessible option.’ Fans of the royals may be used to associating royal births with the luxurious Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital, as all three of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children were born there. The exclusive unit is known for its lavish features, including en-suites, chef-cooked meals and even the option to order a glass of champagne to toast a new birth. However, Frimley Park may also sound familiar to some, as it was the hospital that The Countess of Wessex was rushed to when she experienced complications with the birth of her daughter. She was said to show signs of acute placental abruption, which can be seriously dangerous and even lead to death for a mother and child. Rex Features/Shutterstock The team at Frimley park performed a caesarean section and successfully saved The Countess along with her child. She returned to the hospital in 2007 to have her son, and even came back in 2014 to open the neonatal ward there, giving it a royal seal of approval.
