YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity The first trailer for Keeping Faith series 2 is here By You Magazine - January 2, 2019 Earlier this year, thousands of viewers found themselves captivated by thrilling drama series Keeping Faith, which grew from its Welsh-language roots on S4C to become one of the most-watched programmes on BBC iPlayer in 2018. Now Keeping Faith series 2 has been confirmed, and fans have just been given a glimpse of it in the form of a brand new trailer. If you missed the hype the first time around, here’s the basics: the story follows lawyer Faith, played by Eve Myles, whose world is turned upside-down after the sudden disappearance of her husband and business partner. The eight-part series, based on Jodi Picoult’s bestselling book of the same name, grew in popularity throughout the course of the year, and ultimately became the broadcaster’s most successful non-network drama in over 20 years. #KeepingFaith. (@BBCWales) January 1, 2019 Series 1 ended on a riveting twist, and now the new clip, released by BBC Wales on New Year’s Day 2019, shows Faith – clad in her iconic yellow coat – walking past the yellow tape of a crime scene to look out onto a body of open water. It deliberately doesn’t give much away, serving as a visual appetite whetter for the events that are set to unfold. The production of Keeping Faith series 2 was confirmed by BBC Wales’ head of commissioning Nick Andrews back in April. ‘We’re enjoying an incredible era for Welsh dramas at the moment and this is set to continue,’ he commented at the time. ‘This series has been a real gem from start to finish,’ he continued, also calling lead actress Eve ‘utterly brilliant’. ‘Series two’s development is underway and I can’t wait to see what happens next.’ We're bringing you brilliant drama to get obsessed with in 2019. Here's a sneak peek of what's coming up. https://t.co/xBH9odWgHT pic.twitter.com/TJycT0n0HO - BBC Press Office (@bbcpress) January 1, 2019 The official return date has yet to be confirmed, but according to S4C’s Director of Content Amanda Rees, the new series of the show will first air on S4C. ‘This exceptional, most talked about drama demonstrates that great things can happen when broadcasters join forces and is testament to the outstanding acting and producing talents that Wales has to offer,’ she added. Keeping Faith series 1 is available to watch on BBC iPlayer now.
