How to get Iron Ore in V Rising There are three places to find Iron Ore in V Rising: The Haunted Iron Mine in the Dunley Farmlands. Iron Ore veins in the Cursed Forest. Iron Ore veins in the Dunley Farmlands. By far the best place to find Iron Ore is the Haunted Iron Mine in the Dunley Farmlands, located in the very centre of the map. Take a look at the map below to see its location. A map of the northern half of Vardoran. Each red circle denotes the location of an Iron Ore vein. The Haunted Iron Mine, the best place to mine Iron Ore, is also marked on the map. Much like the Copper Mine in Farbane Woods, you'll find huge amounts of Iron Ore in the Haunted Iron Mine - along with a large number of strong undead enemies. You should only attempt to gather Iron Ore from the mine once you've hit level 40 or higher. Besides the Haunted Iron Mine there are only a few spots in the Dunley Farmlands where you can find the odd vein of Iron Ore. Iron Ore veins are quite common in the Cursed Forest region to the far north, but this area is far more dangerous than the Dunley Farmlands. So if you want easy access to lots of Iron Ore, you should set up your base not too far away from the Haunted Iron Mine. Check out our list of the best V Rising base locations for great spots to build nearby. How to mine Iron Ore in V Rising You need a Merciless Copper weapon to mine Iron Ore. The ideal weapon is a Merciless Copper Mace, because Maces deal more damage to minerals than other weapons. But any Merciless Copper weapon will do. To get a Merciless Copper weapon, you first need to acquire a research book which can unlock the recipe for crafting that weapon. These research books are randomly dropped by enemies of a certain level - particularly bosses. I've found that Clive The Firestarter in the far southwest of the Farbane Woods in particular drops research books quite regularly. Once you've found the book you need, take it back to your Research Desk to unlock the ability to craft your Merciless Copper weapon. Before you start mining the Iron Ore, it's a good idea to find an NPC with the Worker blood type (of which there are plenty in the farms of the Dunley Farmlands) and drink their blood to gain the increased yield efficiency trait, allowing you to get more Iron Ore from each vein you mine. How to make Iron Ingots in V Rising You can smelt your Iron Ore into Iron Ingots using a Furnace, but first you must unlock the recipe for Iron Ingots. To do this, you must defeat Quincey The Bandit King, a level 37 boss located in the Bandit Stronghold in the north of the Farbane Woods. Defeating Quincey will also unlock the ability to build a Smithy, another important metalworking building which you can use to start crafting valuable tools out of your newly smelted Iron Ingots. That's all you need to know in order to get started mining Iron in V Rising. After gathering plenty of iron, you can use it to craft new weapons and increase your gear score in V Rising. With powerful weapons in hand, you're now ready to venture out into the wilderness to find bosses, which grant new vampiric powers. Before leaping into combat, make sure you know how to heal in V Rising.
