Black Ops Cold War Zombies Revealed New Features Mechanics & More 1 October 2020 by Lara Jackson Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is nearly here, and we’ve now seen Zombies mode in all its glory. In case you missed it, Activision and Treyarch have revealed all the gory details for the upcoming mode, including the new features, mechanics and gameplay tweaks we can expect to see. If you haven’t yet seen the full presentation, check it out below! Releasing alongside Black Ops Cold War, the Zombies mode is entitled “Die Maschine,” and comes with a brand new map, new story and new characters. ADVERT ADVERT According to Treyarch: “You’ll play as members of Requiem, a CIA-backed international response team led by Grigori Weaver. Under his guidance, your team is tasked with investigating and suppressing the unnatural phenomena occurring in the facility below… no matter the cost.” As in previous CoD Zombies modes, Die Maschine will again feature four-person co-op matches, Perks, the Pack-a-Punch machine, the Mystery Box and – as always – it’s going to be round-based survival. Credit: Activision Don’t expect a carbon copy of previous Zombies modes though – like we said, there’s going to be quite a few changes with the new game.ADVERT ADVERT Load-outs and progression are now tied to the main game and other modes, so any unlocked weapons, equipments or Scorestreaks can be accessed in any of the game modes – including Zombies. #BlackOpsColdWar #Zombies: Cross-play Cross-gen Cross-progression Battle Pass progression Upgradeable Perks Gunsmith loadouts Weapon rarities Field Upgrades Support weapons Optional exfil Intel tracking Free post-launch content- Treyarch Studios (@Treyarch) September 30, 2020 Unlike in previous Zombies, you can kick off a match with weapons you’ve previously unlocked or upgraded in other game modes, giving you more of an edge than just the basic starter pistol. It’ll also be linked to the game’s Battle Pass (because of course there’s a Battle Pass). A new game feature explored in the video above is the exfiltration system, which means for the first time ever, death won’t necessarily mean the end of the game. ADVERT ADVERT Finally, it’s been confirmed that any post-launch content for Zombies will be free – music to my ears if you ask me!
