Netflix’ s The Witcher Season Two Will ‘ Appeal More To Gamers’ 9 July 2020 by Lara Jackson Netflix’s The Witcher season two is back in action following a production break during the coronavirus pandemic, and details on the next set of episodes are already being teased. Credit: Netflix In an interview with TV Guide, showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich chatted about the scope of the story, which has primarily been adapted straight from the book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. In case you missed it, Netflix’s The Witcher proudly announced that the books would be its main source material, though it seems as though season two be a little different, with lots more references to the CD Projekt Red games expected.ADVERT ADVERT Hissrich told the publication that future seasons of the show would strive to reference iconic Witcher video game moments “as often as possible.” “We want to pay homage to it, to them as often as possible,” she said. “And also I’ve been to CD Projekt Red. I’ve met all of all of those really talented people there. And what they do is amazing. So, if we can offer them a wink and a nod whenever we can, we will.” Hopefully that means we’ll get to see the sex-on-a-unicorn scene made famous in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. ADVERT ADVERT Credit: CD Projekt Red Last year, The Witcher website, Redanian Intelligence, shared an article with Hissrich, during which the infamous scene came up. When asked about it, Redanian Intelligence said at the time: “[Hissrich] laughed and said that, while the first season will not feature such a scene, there may be room for it in the future.” Hopefully that future will be season two! We don’t yet know when The Witcher’s new season will be on the streaming platform, as production saw a hefty delay due to the coronavirus pandemic.ADVERT ADVERT After 93 days at home, I leave for London today, to go back to work. I’m going back a different person. A little more fierce and determined, a lot more brave, and — most importantly — with an open heart. I will miss my family like hell. They will miss me. We all will be okay. pic.twitter.com/5Clk9WnMt0- Lauren S. Hissrich (@LHissrich) June 22, 2020 Production has once again begun after a break of nearly three months, so hopefully we’ll start to hear more news on The Witcher soon! It’s expected to be out sometime in 2021.
