Resident Evil 8 Will Require ‘ An Open Mind ’ Says Leaker 30 June 202030 June 2020 by Lara Jackson Resident Evil 8 – or Resident Evil Village – is officially happening, with a shiny new reveal trailer showing off in all its glory during the PlayStation 5 games event. Interestingly, there’s been a few leaks surrounding the game for the last few months, many of which were proven right when the trailer was finally revealed. Of course, that doesn’t mean we can take leaks as the gospel truth, but it does mean we can definitely get out our magnifying glasses and have a look at some of the tweets of known RE leaker, AestheticGamer. Credit: Capcom AestheticGamer correctly leaked a number of now-proven facts about Resident Evil 8, and they’re now claiming that the game will be the further departure from the beloved series to date.ADVERT ADVERT Taking to Twitter to chat about the game, AestheticGamer shared: “[It] depends how you look at it, but I would say yes, yes it is [a bigger departure than RE 7]. For one thing despite the first-person, southern aesthetic of RE7, RE7 is very, very clearly a RE game, like it purposefully follows RE1’s structure a lot of the time. It’s also relatively self-contained.” They went on to claim that though RE 8 is mechanically similar to 7, it’ll be “more daring,” blurring the lines of the series “not in a way to please everyone.” “I recommend keeping an open mind with RE8, it is in many ways the biggest departure the series will take to date, but it got to where it is because it’s excellent,” they teased. “They’re taking a few risks with RE8, more than people know at this point, but they believe they have something truly special here, and I suspect it’ll be regarded by many down the line as a stellar Resident Evil game.”ADVERT ADVERT (2/2) few risks with RE8, more than people know at this point, but they believe they have something truly special here, and I suspect it'll be regarded by many down the line as a stellar Resident Evil game.- AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) June 29, 2020 They finished up claiming that Capcom is “trying entirely new things” with RE 8, teasing that it will be “very important for the series going forward, but I don’t really want to hint at what I mean by that for the time being.” (1/3) That depends how you look at it, but I would say yes, yes it is. The game also is very important for the series going forward, but I don't really want to hint at what I mean by that for the time being.- AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) June 29, 2020 Chatting with another Resident Evil fan, AestheticGamer spoke a little on the game’s supposed structure, claiming that RE 8 will have a “bigger focus on exploration than any Resident Evil game,” with free-roaming, optional treasures and what could be a hint as side quests. (3/3) bigger focus on exploration than any Resident Evil game, but they're taking a bit of an almost Souls-like approach where some areas are accessible early in, if you're skilled or equipped enough to handle them, otherwise you'll get your ass kicked. See more what I mean later- AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) June 29, 2020 As always with leaks and rumours, take them with a pinch of salt. That being said, is this the RE 8 you’d like to see?ADVERT ADVERT Featured Image Credit: Capcom TweetShareSharePin Follow us on @GameByte @gamebyte GameByte GameByte GameByte Noobs Play @GameByte @gamebyte GameByte GameByte GameByte Noobs Play External Links Policy GameByte Staff About GameByte Advertise with us Careers Ambassador Program Contact Terms and Conditions Privacy Policy Cookie Policy Manage Cookies Preferences Submit Your Content FragHero Sporf 9 to 5 Life Social Chain Social Chain Agency
