Joel actor, Troy Baker, sat down with GameByte during MCM ComicCon Scotland to talk all thing TLOU Part 2. Troy Baker Wants To ‘ Mind-Wipe’ The Last Of Us Part 2 18 June 20202 October 2019 by Lara Jackson The Last of Us Part 2 is quite possibly one of the most highly-anticipated games of all time, and finally – FINALLY – we can mark a date in our calendars for its release. Although we know when it’s coming, there’s still a fair amount of mystery surrounding the game, with most fans clamouring to know just how much bigger than TLOU Part 2 will be compared to the first title. Credit: Naughty Dog Speaking exclusively to GameByte, the man behind the iconic character of Joel talked everything The Last of Us Part 2 during MCM Comic Con Scotland 2019, and it’s left me more excited than ever.ADVERT ADVERT We all know by now that the second part of the game is going to be a lot bigger than the 2013 classic, but I wanted to know just how much bigger we’re talking. “I don’t know percentage-wise or proportionally what the script [size] was to the first one,” Troy tells me. “Just in terms of scope, without getting too into-the-weeds with details, the scope of the game is far larger…Not just from the world sense, but the enemies that you’ll face, that has grown. Credit: Naughty Dog “We told a very simple story in the first game, it’s the story of two survivors, pitted with each other against innumerable odds, just trying to get from point A to point B. That’s it. Just get her to the Fireflies, that’s all I have to do. And that’s the story that we told. ADVERT ADVERT “This is far more…detailed, I would say. There’s just a lot more that’s happening. I get concerned about telling too much not because I want to spoil anything, and not for me getting in trouble, it’s for you as the player, for me as the player. “I’m trying to do a mind-wipe because I wanna experience this as much and as freshly as possible.” Credit: Naughty Dog Troy went onto echo the sentiment that, despite what the fans want, there’s a meticulous thought process behind every decision that Naughty Dog is making in the run-up to the game.ADVERT ADVERT “Again, I have to go back and give credit to Neil [Druckmann] because the cards that he has shown have been very, very carefully selected. Not because they’re worried about giving too much away or spoiling it, simply because there’s a way that he wants you to experience his game. I’m always cautious to make sure that I don’t mess that up.” Credit: GameByte The Last of Us Part 2 launches exclusively on PlayStation 4, June 19 2020.
