The pretty-darn-fun 2018 story of cultists in Hope County will be available for you to download and play, free of charge, for this weekend only. Sadly you won’t be able to keep the game, and it’s PC only, but hey, a (temporary) free game is a (temporary) free game. Credit: Ubisoft “Once the free weekend is over your progression will be carried over if you purchase the game.” Meanwhile, the future of the Far Cry franchise is still up for debate. Earlier this year, known industry insider and reliable source of leaks, Jason Schreier, claimed that the next Far Cry game is already in the works.ADVERT ADVERT Credit: Ubisoft Schreier took to Twitter to comment on a then-recent Ubisoft earnings call, in which the company explained it would be launching five AAA games between April 2020 and March 2021. At the time, we already knew that three of these titles included Rainbow 6 Quarantine, Watch Dogs Legion and Gods & Monsters. The fourth was the soon-to-be-released Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (though we didn’t know this at the time of the tweet). Schreier claimed that the two mystery projects are none other than a new Assassin’s Creed (which was correct) and a new Far Cry (which has yet to be confirmed).
