Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Ratings Description Reveals Dark Campaign 18 September 2019 by Lara Jackson Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has just received a rating description from the ESRB, and it’s revealed a lot of exciting – and terrifying – new info about the game. We’ve been promised a darker, grittier and more intense CoD than ever before, and if this rating is anything to go by then Activision and Infinity Ward have definitely delivered! Credit: Activision The ESRB describes the game as “a first-person shooter in which players assume the roles of special forces soldiers and freedom fighters as they battle terrorists,” confirming that “players can engage in a variety of combat missions, such as saving hostages, escaping/infiltrating war zones, and assaulting enemy compounds.”ADVERT ADVERT Sounds all well and good so far, but the description also offers a lot of insight into just how dark the game’s going to get, and…yeah, it’s pretty dark. Infinity Ward definitely isn’t messing around with Modern Warfare! The full description reads as follows: “Characters use machine guns, shotguns, sniper rifles, and explosives to kill enemies in frenetic combat. In some situations, players must quickly determine which characters are terrorists and which are just innocent bystanders. ADVERT ADVERT “Combat is highlighted by realistic gunfire, screams of pain, and large blood-splatter effects. A sniper rifle causes increased damage (e.g., decapitation, dismemberment). Cutscenes depict additional acts of violence: a hostage killed by an explosive vest; civilians (including children) killed by a gas attack. ADVERT ADVERT Credit: Activision “Some scenes depict terrorists threatening and, in rare instances, attacking or shooting young characters (e.g., a boy held hostage; young siblings attacked in their home-players can control their ability to fight back). “The game includes multiplayer badges that depict illustrations of marijuana leaves and smoking; other illustrations depict close-up angles of partially exposed cleavage and buttocks. The words ‘f**k’ and ‘sh*t’ appear in the dialogue.” Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches October 25th 2019.ADVERT ADVERT Featured Image Credit: Activision TweetShareSharePin Follow us on @GameByte @gamebyte GameByte GameByte GameByte Noobs Play @GameByte @gamebyte GameByte GameByte GameByte Noobs Play External Links Policy GameByte Staff About GameByte Advertise with us Careers Ambassador Program Contact Terms and Conditions Privacy Policy Cookie Policy Manage Cookies Preferences Submit Your Content FragHero Sporf 9 to 5 Life Social Chain Social Chain Agency
