Metal Gear Solid Movie Is Happening Director Has ‘ Specific Actor’ In Mind 5 December 2019 by Lara Jackson Although the future of the Metal Gear Solid games has been in flux since Hideo Kojima and Konami parted ways, it seems the movie is still going full steam ahead. The movie’s director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, recently took to Twitter with an update on the film, writing: “I’m sorry can’t update you on the MGS film more regularly… but: Credit: Konami “-We just turned in a new draft. Vogt-Roberts, whose previous directorial work includes Kong: Skull Island, has been pretty tight-lipped on the matter of the MGS movie, but it’s a safe bet to say it won’t be starring original Snake actor, David Hayter.ADVERT ADVERT Credit: Konami Speaking of video-game-turned-movie-project, the seemingly-doomed Uncharted movie is still stuck in developmental hell. Earlier this year during MCM ComicCon Scotland, GameByte spoke exclusively with Nolan North, the actor behind Uncharted’s Nathan Drake to get his opinion on the movie. Speaking on whether or not the movie’s actually going to happen, Nolan seemed doubtful…even before I told him that the project had reportedly lost another director just the day before we met for our interview.ADVERT ADVERT Credit: Naughty Dog “The last I heard, I’ve met a few of the directors that’ve come and gone, I’ve been privvy to a couple of the scripts that have come and gone. It’s been talked about since…oh boy, a long long time,” says Nolan. “It’ll be really interesting to see if they get a script. I really think the December 2020 is never going to happen, ’cause they don’t have a script yet. And it takes a lot longer to shoot and go through post-production than a year. So, especially if they’re gonna do it right.” Travis Knight, who directed Bumblebee, is now in talks with Sony to direct the Uncharted movie.ADVERT ADVERT Looking for gift inspiration for the holiday season?
