On Feb. 17, the Duffer Brothers revealed in an open letter that Season 4 would be split into two volumes, with the first group of episodes debuting on May 27, 2022, and the rest dropping five weeks later, on July 1, 2022. "Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things," creators Matt and Ross Duffer wrote to fans. "At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four but — as you’ll see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale." They conclued, "Season 4 will be the penultimate season; Season 5 will be the last." It's unclear how long we'll have to wait for any news regarding Season 5, but hopefully, the Duffer Brothers are working on scripts or preparing to film.
