After dropping a game at Tennessee last weekend, Saban and the No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide will look to keep that streak alive as they host No. 24 Mississippi State at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. The latest Week 8 college football odds from Caesars Sportsbook list the Tide at -21 in that one. Elsewhere in the SEC West, LSU is -1 against No. 7 Ole Miss in the 3:30 p.m. ET SEC on CBS game. Other contenders in action include No. 5 Clemson (-14) against No. 14 Syracuse in a battle of undefeated ACC squads. And the only top-10 matchup on the Week 8 college football schedule comes in the Pac-12 where No. 10 Oregon is -7 against No. 9 UCLA. One of the college picks the model is high on in Week 8: No. 5 Clemson (-14) cruises to a blowout win against No. 14 Syracuse on Saturday in a noon ET battle of undefeated ACC squads. The Tigers have won four straight against the Orange, and they've scored 41 or more points in two of the last three meetings against Syracuse. Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has been playing well in recent weeks, especially against ACC opponents. The junior QB has thrown three or more touchdown passes in three of his last four outings, and he's scored three rushing TDs in his last three games. In addition, the Tigers are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games in conference play, which is one reason why the model expects Clemson to cover the spread almost 60% of the time. Another one of the model's top college football picks: Iowa (+29.5) has no problem keeping it within the four-score spread when it travels to take on No. 2 Ohio State at noon ET. The Hawkeyes rank third nationally in scoring defense, giving up just 9.8 points per game. They've done very little on offense, but SportsLine's model is banking on that elite defense keeping this one within the number. Ohio State leads the nation with 48.8 points per game, but the model projects that they don't get to 40 in this one.
