This was highlighted in a report by Adobe on consumer holiday spending (opens in new tab) in 2021, which highlighted that prices for computers generally start falling in October and bottomed out at nearly 15% less than MSRP throughout the entire month of November, before rising again in December. As you move up the configuration stack though, the prices grow faster than the discounts, so even though the price cuts are bigger in absolute dollars, the precentages generally get smaller as well. We also don't know if the same discount patterns we've seen on the M1 MacBook Air will carry over to the M2 MacBook Air. While we expect to see at least $100 off the entry level spec, its higher initial price might mean these discounts start a bit larger than usual.
