Sega boosts Mega Drive Mini games total to 42 Includes Darius and ultra-rare Tetris. News by Tom Phillips Deputy Editor Updated on 4 Jun 2019 126 comments Sega has announced its full line-up of games available on September's Mega Drive Mini console - and upped the final count to 42. Most surprising? The inclusion of arcade classic Darius, which never previously launched on Mega Drive, and the ultra-rare Mega Drive version of Tetris, one of the rarest games in the world, with only around 10 copies known to still exist. It's great to see these included - it reminds me of the unreleased Star Fox 2 being included in Nintendo's own SNES mini, which went on to sell very well indeed. The full list of 12 games announced today includes: Tetris Darius Virtua Fighter 2 Alisia Dragoon Monster World IV Kid Chameleon Road Rash II Eternal Champions Columns Dynamite Headdy Strider Light Crusader Columns (not Tetris) and Darius. Due 19th September, the Mega Drive Mini is 55 per cent smaller than Sega's original console. It comes with two USB controllers, an HDMI cable, and (if you live in North America) a USB power adaptor. In Japan, meanwhile, you will be able to buy a (non-functioning) 32X tower and cartridges to pop on top, just for show. And finally, list fans, here are all 42 games in one big rundown: Sonic The Hedgehog Ecco the Dolphin Castlevania: The New Generation Space Harrier 2 Shining Force Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine ToeJam & Earl Comix Zone Altered Beast Gunstar Heroes Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck Thunder Force 3 Super Fantasy Zone Shinobi 3 Streets of Rage 2 Earthworm Jim Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Probotector Landstalker Mega Man: The Wily Wars Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition Ghouls 'n Ghosts Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle Story of Thor Golden Axe Phantasy Star 4: The End of the Millennium Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball Vectorman Wonder Boy in Monster World Tetris Darius Road Rash 2 Strider Virtua Fighter 2 Alisia Dragoon Kid Chameleon Monster World IV Eternal Champions Columns Dynamite Headdy Light Crusader Become a Eurogamer subscriber and get your first month for £1 Get your first month for £1 (normally £3.99) when you buy a Standard Eurogamer subscription.
