News by Tom Phillips Deputy Editor Updated on 13 Aug 2019 14 comments EA's suffered a bad leak - a work-in-progress trailer revealing Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neigborville has sprouted onto the internet. Trailers leak all the time, but this one is clearly still unfinished. Placeholder assets are still visible, visual effects are yet to replace some storyboards, and frame-rates are choppy. For us, it's an interesting peek at how a video game reveal teaser looks before its ready for prime time. For EA, it's another leak for its much-rumoured new Plants vs. Zombies shooter. Otherwise, there's not a lot to glean from the footage, which doesn't appear to be in-game. As expected, this will be a third game in the cartoony Garden Warfare shooter vein. We know the game will launch this financial year and has recently been in closed player testing under the codename "Picnic". Over the weekend, a trademark for the game's name popped up on the European ratings board website. A week away from Gamescom, all signs point to a reveal of the game there. Before that, EA is due to announce its next Need for Speed game tomorrow - unless that leaks too.
