News by Wesley Yin-Poole Deputy Editorial Director Updated on 20 Aug 2019 62 comments I don't know anything about One Punch Man, but I'm going to play his new video game because it's got a brilliant and hilarious mechanic I can't wait to try. One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Known is a video game, I have discovered, that is coming out for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon. I wouldn't normally care. It looks like standard Bandai Namco anime character beat 'em up fare. I mean, it's not a fighting game, is it? But wait! A hero always arrives late, the trailer declares. What's this? A Hero Arrival System! Okay... this is awesome. Watch on YouTube Here's how it works: the better you fight, the faster One Punch Man will join the battle. You can see a little picture-in-picture live feed of him running to where you're fighting as you're fighting. The countdown shows you when he'll arrive. All you have to do is survive until he turns up, and then he punches your opponent over the horizon - presumably to their death. This is an incredible idea and I can't wait to give it a shot. I'm a Guile player. I know what it means to turtle. One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Known looks like a game about playing as a turtle. In fact, that's how you win. And then someone comes along and swats your foe away like they're nothing. Amazing. Capcom, take note. If Street Fighter 6 doesn't have a Hero Arrival system of its own, I'm out. Anyway, I have so many questions about One Punch Man. How come he's so strong? Why does he always arrive late? And why does nobody know him? Poor chap.
