Blog by Martin Robinson Editor-in-chief Published on 9 Sep 2019 120 comments Borderlands 3 is coming out later this week, and around about now you'll be seeing reviews appearing on other sites of Gearbox's long-awaited looter shooter. As I write this, though, we've yet to receive review code - and we're not the only publication to be in that situation. Of course, this situation is not unprecedented - and as I've said in the past, we're in no way entitled to early review code. Publishers are entirely free to hand it out at their own discretion. It's always disappointing when some publications are given access while others are denied, though. As for the reasons given in this particular instance, security fears after ongoing issues with leaks have been cited. From my own understanding, it seems that several US sites have access to code while many European ones don't. As is often the case, logic doesn't necessarily apply. Watch on YouTube We're hoping to have code soon, and will bring you a review of Borderlands 3 as and when we're ready - which, given the size and scope of a game like this, might take some time. In the meantime, we'll be reporting on its launch, providing videos and guides while we hammer away at the review. I'll keep you updated as to our progress - and, in the meantime, thank you for your patience.
