Guide by Mat Hall Contributor Updated on 30 Apr 2019 Omega Mk XII in Final Fantasy 12 The Zodiac Age is a hidden boss in every sense of the word - there's no indication he's there, and finding him is, to put it mildly, a pain in the behind. He's also a tricky one if you don't plan and prepare properly - and so with that in mind we've put together a guide for everything you need to know in order to beat him, including Omega Mk XII's location, requirements to start the battle, and strategies for when you do so. Final Fantasy 12 Omega Mk XII location and requirements Before you get to the actual battle, here's everything you need to know about Omega Mk XII: Prerequisites: All Espers defeated, Yiazmat hunt started. Recommended level: 85+ You will need: Reverse, Decoy, and either Dispel or a decent supply of Dispel Motes. Location: Great Crystal, Dhebon Jilaam Avaa HP: ~1.3 million. Weak: None. Absorb: All. Omega Mark XII is located in the Great Crystal, and the path to him makes your previous visits look like a walk to the shops. Start by using Way Stone XX to reach Kanbhru Pis, take the leftmost exit of the cluster of three, and activate the Aquarius Stone, return to Kanbhru Pis, and turn right and use Way Stone XVII. Take the one exit available to you, and then go right, and right again. (If the Libra Gate is locked you'll need to take the left instead of the second right, hit the stone, and double back.) Touch the Aquarius Gate to open it, but don't go through. Backtrack, then turn right, then take the only other exit. Touch the Capricorn stone, then double back, turn right, and then take the only other exit. Take the next exit to reach the Libra Stone, turn right, then touch Gate Capricorn II but don't go through. Double back, turn left, right, go straight ahead twice, and turn left, and you should be a Sthaana Taurus. Use the stone, then return to Gate Capricorn II. Turn right and keep going until you reach Way Stone XXI. The next area contains Waystone XXIII which will teleport you to the boss arena. Omega Mk XI strategies and how to defeat it With the right preparation this fight is surprisingly easy - Omega has one attack, a laser that hits for around 7000HP, and that's it. Give everyone an "Ally: status = KO - Arise/Phoenix Down" gambit in their first slot, then set one party member to cast Reverse on everyone, another to continually cast Decoy and Reverse on your most damaging character, and set the DPS member to just make physical attacks - make sure they're not using a weapon that does elemental damage, and you're good to go. (An alternative strategy would be to Reverse just the DPS character - in theory it should be equally effective, but we've not tested it so your mileage may vary.) For more help with? Watch on YouTube Maintaining Reverse is vital as without it two hits from the laser is certain death regardless of what equipment you have, but as long as it holds you should have no problems. The only real fly in the ointment is that Omega's weapon can occasionally inflict Berserk - if it hits your DPS character then this can be considered a bonus as it'll give you an extra 50% damage, but if it hits the others you'll need to have someone manually Dispel the effect either with a spell or mote. The only change that happens to Omega during the fight is that his defence will increase when he gets down to 25% HP - it's likely you'll manage no more than 1000HP damage per hit at this point so the last quarter of the fight may take as long (or longer) than the first three quarters, but apart from that he'll still just stick to his one solitary attack.
