You bring create of these ancient creatures back to life by combining two different fossils that can be found in the Galar region, which means you're basically doing some mad, Jurassic Park styled, science. These fossils can be quite hard to find though, especially the rarity of each fossil differs depending on which version, Sword or Shield, you're playing. Each one requires two fossils in order for you to bring it back to life. It's also important to note that, like Aerodactyl, none of these fossil Pokémon can evolve. The locations of these fossils change depending on which version you're playing. The four fossils you can find are: Fossilized Bird Fossilized Dino Fossilized Drake Fossilized Fish This Pokémon is definitely in pain. If you're playing Pokémon Sword, then you find Fossilized Birds and Dinos in both Route 6 and the Dusty Bowl in the Wild Area. You can also visit the Pokémon Centre in Stow-on Side to receive two Fossilized Birds from the man to the left-hand side of the door. If you're playing Pokémon Shield, you can find Fossilized Fish and Drakes throughout Route 6 and the Dusty Bowl in the Wild Area. The man in the Stow-on-Side Pokémon Centre will also give you two Fossilized Drakes. The best method for finding fossils in both games, however, is by visiting the Digging Duo. You can find the Digging Duo near the Pokémon Nursery in Bridge Field location of the Wild Area. As their name suggests, the Digging Duo are a pair of brothers who will happily dig up rare items for you in exchange for Watts. The skilled brother is on the left-hand side, while the stamina brother is on the right-hand side. The left-hand side brother is more skilled at digging and will bring you rarer items, while the right-hand brother has more stamina, giving him the ability to dig up more items. Both brothers have the ability to excavate fossils, but the skilled (left-hand side) brother is the better choice, because he can find all four types of fossils. The stamina, right-hand, brother, meanwhile, can only find two fossils depending on your version of the game. The likelihood of receiving each fossil also depends on which version of the game you're playing. A Fossilized Drake, for example, is easier to find in Pokémon Shield, than in Sword. It's important to note that every time you pay of one of the brothers, they will also save your game. This means you can't turn the game off if you don't get the items you want, so it's a good idea to save up your Watts if you want a particular fossil. How to reanimate the fossil Poké mon in Poké mon Sword and Shield After you've built yourself a nice fossil collection, it's time to start playing with nature and bring some Pokémon back to life. (Whether they want it or not...) Head to Route 6, which sits in between Stow-on-Side and Hammerlocke, and find Professor Cara Liss. She'll stand out, not just because of the lab coat, but due to the odd machine sitting next to her. The location of Professor Cara Liss. You can quickly reach Professor Cara Liss by flying to Route 6 and then climbing the hill to immediately to your left. When you talk to the Professor, she'll ask you to pick two different fossils. Make sure you choose carefully, as these decisions determine which fossil Pokémon you receive. You will be given a chance to change your selection, but once you confirm these are the fossils you wish to restore, then there's no going back. Once the restoration process is complete, Professor Cara Liss will give you your new fossil Pokémon. You'll then be able to give it a nickname, add it to your party, read its summary or send it a box just like if you caught this Pokémon in the wild. Each fossil Pokémon you receive will be at level 10, so, if you're planning to have one in your party, it's a good idea to try and get it as early as possible.
