Fans continue to eagerly await the next chapter in the umbra witch's adventures. And after years of small trickles of information, Platinum Games has finally graced fans with a new trailer and release date. Bayonetta 3 is set to launch on October 28, 2022. The game will exclusively release on Nintendo Switch. From the first gameplay footage, the graphics look a little dated, but the game still runs at 60 fps. Below is everything we know so far about Bayonetta 3. Bayonetta 3 release date According to a new trailer, Bayonetta 3 will finally launch on October 28, 2022. Players will be able to purchase a standard version, either physically or digitally, or a Trinity Masquerade Edition. This includes special, reversible covers for Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2, although it doesn't include the games themselves. (Image credit: Nintendo) Bayonetta 3 trailer There have been a few trailers released for Bayonetta 3 so far. The most recent one, which was unveiled during the Nintendo Direct Event in September, features gameplay and shows off Bayonetta's new hairstyle and outfit. The first trailer, embedded below, was revealed at The Game Awards in 2017. In it, we see Bayonetta's ribbon drift down past a blood-red moon, as the protagonist herself gets slammed with a round of attacks from a fiery purple foe. She fires back with two new guns, collapses from the onslaught and - well, that's about it. The trailer isn't really supposed to give us a deep dive into the story or gameplay, just let us know that the game is in the works. In that respect, it gets the job done. (Image credit: Nintendo) Bayonetta 3 gameplay Based on the recent trailers for Bayonetta 3, the gameplay looks similar to the first two games. That means a lot of action while baring a lot of skin. The game continues its over-the-top tradition of Bayonetta making increasingly wacky monsters out of her hair, including a giant dragon and spider. Expect Bayonetta to juggle foes while using both melee attacks and guns. (The new guns she wields in the trailer are called "Whittingham Fair," not dissimilar from the "Scarborough Fair" guns in the previous games.) (Image credit: Nintendo) There'll probably be new vehicle sections, animal transformations and Torture Attacks, many of which would require Freud's entire canon to parse.
