News by Vikki Blake Contributor Updated on 6 Apr 2020 16 comments E3 organiser the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has confirmed next year's event will take place on 15th-17th June, 2021. As reported by our friends at GI.biz, and much like this year's event, the ESA told its partners that it is currently devising a "reimagined" show, but has yet to expand on what that might mean. E3 2020 was formally cancelled mid-March, In a statement, organiser ESA said: "After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry - our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners - we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles. "Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our fans and supporters. But we know it's the right decision based on the information we have today." E3's traditional floor layout was expected to change this year, when ESA plans to reshape the show was leaked to press. The ESA's proposal suggested eight large-scale stage-like "experience hubs" where attendeesa are able to watch influencers and celebrities playing video games - with the organisation suggesting the Los Angeles Lakers playing a basketball game as an example.
