Bananas are coming to Stardew Valley As part of free 1.5 update. News by Matt Wales Reporter Updated on 9 Apr 2020 12 comments The masses have spoken and Stardew Valley will be adding bananas in its next big update. Bananas were but one option in a poll posted by Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone earlier this week, with voters also given the choice of nominating mango (which came a close second), passion fruit, and avocado as the next fruit to find its way into the critically acclaimed - and astronomically popular - farming and village life sim. In case you're wondering, apple, apricot, blackberry, blueberry, cactus fruit, cherry, coconut, cranberry, grape, hot pepper, melon, orange, peach, pomegranate, rhubarb, starfruit, strawberry, and wild plum are already accounted for, which does make me wonder how bananas didn't make the cut first time around. Oh, ancient fruit, crystal fruit, and spice berry are also in there, but I'm deeply skeptical those are real things. Stardew Valley's incoming banana tree in all its glory. At present, bananas - let's be honest, easily the dullest choice to emerge triumphant in Barone's poll - are the only announced inclusion in Stardew Valley's free 1.5 update, which the developer confirmed he was working on back in February. It follows Stardew Valley's free 1.4 content update, released late last year, that introduced a heap of quality of life improvements and additions, including multiplayer enhancements, fish breeding, clothes tailoring and dyeing, new mine content, plus new clothing options, hairstyles, buildings, and decorations. Oh, and a Trash Bear. Alongside Stardew Valley's 1.5 update, Barone is also in the early stages his next two projects, both said to be single-player, top-down 2D games with a pixel art aesthetic, one of which is a non-farming game set in the world of Stardew Valley. Barone has, however, suggested that fans "don't get too hyped at this stage".
