Horizon Zero Dawn confirmed for PC this summer But no plans for day and date PC releases, Sony insists. News by Wesley Yin-Poole Deputy Editorial Director Updated on 10 Mar 2020 155 comments Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC, Sony has confirmed. The Steam page for the Complete Edition of the game is live now. Guerrilla's 2017 PlayStation 4 game hits PC this summer, PlayStation Worldwide Studios boss Hermen Hulst revealed in a PlayStation Blog interview. However, Sony has no plans for day and date PC releases, Hulst insisted. "Yes, I can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer," Hulst, who succeeeded Shuhei Yoshida as president of Worldwide Studios on November 2019, said. "There will be more information coming from Guerrilla, from the new studio directors [Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets] pretty soon." Explaining the decision to port Horizon to PC, Hulst said it was about introducing more people to PlayStation. "I think it's important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they've been missing out on," he said. Watch on YouTube Hulst also moved to reassure PlayStation fans that Sony remains committed to the console business, and stressed Sony does not intent to follow Microsoft's lead and release all its console exclusives on PC at the same time. "And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn't necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC," he said. "In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don't have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100 per cent committed to dedicated hardware." Thoughts will now turn to Sony's slate of PS4 exclusives, and whether they will also make the jump to PC. Could Media Molecule's Dreams be next?
