Rejoice, for Slay the Spire is finally coming to iOS and Android Cardly wait. News by Robert Purchese Senior Staff Writer Updated on 4 Jun 2020 18 comments Slay the Spire, probably the best game in the world ever, is finally coming to iOS and Android devices. It's due this month on iOS and on Android at some point in the future. A specific date will be shared in the E3-style Guerrilla Collective event taking place this weekend, it sounds like. Slay the Spire developer MegaCrit announced the news in a Steam update. It said the iOS version will be the full PC game. Screenshots of the iOS version seemed to confirm the newer fourth character, the Watcher, will be included (it's pictured as a fourth, unlockable character). These are the iOS screenshots MegaCrit shared. Slay the Spire will cost $10 on iOS. "The Android version is still in the works but we're not quite ready to talk about release yet," MegaCrit added. "As we know a large part of our community are excited to play Slay the Spire on mobile we took the decision to launch the iOS version first." Boo hiss! Bring it out Android now! But seriously: hurry up. Please? Slay the Spire is a card game where you have one life to see how far up the spire you can get. Each time you die, you build your deck again from scratch - there's none of this taking your favourite deck into battle with you. You start with around 10 basic cards and then build with cards offered after each battle. This means there's a lot of strategising on the fly as you never know what you're going to get. Each time die, and you will, you'll make progress towards unlocking new cards to use next time. Dying, then, becomes a necessary part of the loop. That's Slay the Spire in a nutshell. Mix in permanent (for that run) relic buffs, special events, mini-bosses and bosses, and the complexity builds. Furthermore, each time you climb the spire, the game gets harder, and an assortment of leaderboards and daily challenges have kept a hardcore Slay the Spire community playing for years. It's seriously hard to put down. Slay the Spire is already out on PC and consoles, and if you're interested in diving in - and again, I can't recommend it highly enough - check out my Slay the Spire guide for some essential tips and my Watcher guide if that's your character of choice.
